The International Surrealist Film Festival (ISFF), is searching for surreality in all genres of film making. WE WILL DECIDE WHAT IS SURREAL. Unlike most festivals, our panel of judges will send a personal written critique to all entrants, regardless as to whether or not they are accepted into the festival.

The festival will showcase feature length and short films on 35mm 16mm Super-8 & Video (Mini DV to Beta etc.) and DVD, though we accept all formats and ANY length (Single system sound only).

There will be a live Theremin player present (please include note, if you wish your film be shown with live accompaniment).

PRIZES: 16mm BOLEX MOVIE CAMERA. (two award ceremonies will occur this year.)
Categories and prizes will be decided by the judges after all films are viewed. Past years categories ranged from most abrasive to most oblique. Please submit preview on VHS. Entry Deadline: March 26, 2004.

Please note: This year we will be presenting two seperate awards. The ISFF2002 lost it's venue at the last moment so we will be showing those winners this year as well.

Send official entry form, along witha VHS NTSC or dvd (any region) and check or money order for entry fee of $35 made out to "Paul F Yates c/o The International Surrealist Film Fest", to:

"And ever since I have had a great desire to show forbearance to scientific musing, however unbecoming, in the final analysis, from every point of view. Radio? Fine. Syphilis? If you like. Photography? I don't see any reason why not. The cinema? Three cheers for darkened years. War? Gave us a good laugh. The telephone? Hello. Youth? Charming white hair. Try to make me say thank you: 'Thank you.' Thank you."
-Andre Breton, Manifesto of Surrealism

"The simplest Surrealist act consists of dashing down into the street, pistol in hand, and firing blindly, as fast as you can pull the trigger, into the crowd."
-Andre Breton, Second Manifesto of Surrealism
