July 2 - Get yourself into a photobooth machine and take a picture!!!! Make it odd-make is sexy-kill yourself in it-anything that is different! Then send it to me at PO box 10718 Stamford CT 06904. I will then tell you what "Wägenhalt" means. Hell I'll tell you what it means anyway.... I had been trying to come up with a word for a feeling that we have no word for in english--For example for the feeling that you have experienced something before we have appropriated the french expression: "deja vu"--and for the feeling of existential fear we have appropriated the german word "angst" which in german only means fear... so... for the feeling that I (and moby) had been searching for: there is a certain sensation one gets when someone else is making a fool of them selves-like when you watch patrick swayze dance-or when you watch someone play airbass-their face is totally into it-you feel you want to look up at God or the aliens and say: "I am not part of this race-nor am I with them." You are not embarrassed for or by them-you are simply not with them. So when I was in germany on the tram-I saw a button which read: Wägenhalt - it meant literally "stop the wagen" or tram or bus. This was perfect. Use the expression all you want. Like: "When my mother tried to speak like an old jewish man to tell a joke-she gave me serious Wägenhalt"..You may use this all you want my autophoto children- just give the old Onion credit.
